Took the motorcycle training … or I tried to anyway

Well, the motorcycle class didn’t go so well today. After I dropped the bike on my leg for the THIRD time (and actually broke off one of the handlebars), the instructor gently suggested and I agreed that this wasn’t working out. She did suggest going to the afternoon class to go through the same exercises. She said my own fear was holding me back. To be honest, I didn’t think the class was really geared for beginners, BEGINNER beginners. Everyone else seemed to get it, so it was really embarrassing in addition to everything else. For someone as new as me, I felt it went way too quickly. They had a “pre”-beginner’s class, but I didn’t know about it.

Sooo, I have a huge bump on my leg. Thank goodness I wore my husband’s hiking boots or accident one, where my foot was stuck under the bike, would have been a disaster.

I’m proud of myself, however, that I got up all three times and tried again.

I’m going to get a junker to learn on eventually and my husband is going to teach me how to get from point A to point B, you know, little things like braking without turning the dumb handlebars so the bike doesn’t fall over (sigh) … and THEN I can take the class and get my license.

I was going to get a beautiful Johnny Pag 300 Raptor (a really beautiful bike for an amazing price).

BUT … I can’t see ruining a perfectly pretty bike by dropping it over and over. So I’m not sure what I’m going to do, except my next step would be a junker for sure, until I figure out how the heck to get from point A to point B without squashing my foot.
